A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE TOM KING FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEREAS, Representative Thomas Edward King, Jr., of House District 104, has served as a member of the House of Representatives for six years; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from Petal High School, Representative King received a bachelor's degree in history and education from the University of Southern Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Representative King serves on the House Education Committee, the Military Affairs Committee, the Public Buildings, Grounds and Lands Committee and the Transportation Committee; and
WHEREAS, a veteran of the Vietnam War, Representative King has devoted tireless efforts as a member of the Military Affairs Committee working for the passage of numerous pieces of legislation to assist, recognize and meet the well-deserved needs of our veterans; and
WHEREAS, Representative King has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his beautiful wife, the former Susan Lynn Patterson, and their children, Clay and Chad; and
WHEREAS, Representative King has worked within the legislative process as a valued member of the House of Representatives and has honorably and admirably served the people of his district and the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the outstanding legislative career of Representative Tom King and extend to him our heartiest wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative King and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
